YU-NO: A Girl Who Chants Love at the Bound of This World (Episode 8) – The Sparrows and Swallows Know Not
What happened?
Mio’s been puzzling over the tapestry at Ryuuzouji’s house and she’s possibly made some startling discoveries. However, she overhears a discussion between her father, the Mayor and some unsavoury characters. The next morning he tells her that she is going to continue her studies in America, leaving her little time to get to the bottom of the mystery.
Takuya woke with a splitting headache. It was so bad that he was about to ditch school altogether until Eriko offered to give him a top-secret head massage that is guaranteed to take care of him. Of course, Takuya assumed it would be much more than it was, but it was enough to convince him to stay. In class, Mio told Takuya that she had made a discovery and wanted him to come to her house to see it.
He agreed and got caught up in some shenanigans. After escaping the wrath of Mio’s father, they made it out to the mysterious mountain and started to search for a secret opening. Mio tripped and hurt her ankle cutting the search short. Takuya carried her to school to get some bandages where she confided in him about her father, unaware that Yuuki was listening at the window.
What did you think?
This episode seemed to focus most of its time on Eriko and Mio, which is obviously a great idea all around. It did a number of smaller things as well and that was to set up the direction for this arc. Mio has found something that needs to be investigated and we still don’t know why Eriko’s clothes were lying on the bed in the last episode. Mitsuki has a role to play in things too as she’s the link back to Ryuuzouji. Things are shaping up nicely.
