What happened?

Of course, there was one thing Agent Smith forgot to mention and that was the full moon drives the Liminals wild, so with the rather interesting news they’ve just received, Kimihito may actually be in serious danger. Mia is the first to get to him and quickly wraps him up with her tail. Then, Papi bursts through the window and straddles him. Finally, Centorea bursts in and frees him from their clutches. She swears to protect him and reveals that she is not so based as to be impacted by the moon. Then, she offers to let him grab her boobs…

After a near-death experience, they all wake up the next day with no recollection of what happened. Kimihito tells them that for future full moons, they will be going to bed early. Anyhow, since he is likely going to have to marry one of them, he has decided to date them so that he can assess which one to choose. Mia starts things off by cooking some food for Kimihito, however, she burns her hands and makes a mess of the food. To make matters worse, she’s shedding but doesn’t want Kimihito to know. When he finds out, he offers to help her out as he’s been reading up on their races.

After a fairly intimate skin-peeling session, Mia returns to the kitchen. That’s when she’s attacked by a slime! Centorea tries to protect Kimihito but gets covered in slime. Kimihito ends up helping her wash the slime off her body, however, they are attacked again. This time, the slime takes a human form and mounts Kimihito. It slowly absorbs him until he can’t breathe. In a desperate attempt to survive, he jumps into the bathtub. He tells the slime to stay there while they work out what to do!

So, even Agent Smith has taken to calling Kimihito Darling-kun. I know she’s not part of the harem and I don’t mind, but I would like to see her pop up more in these books. She’s absolutely hilarious. For example, only Smith would tell Kimihito he has to marry one of them in front of the girls… on a night with a full moon. This book was a lot of fun, however, I don’t think it was quite as good as the first volume.

One issue I have with harem stories is that they sometimes try to go too quickly. I like it when the number of girls increases slowly giving us a chance to get to know each of them and see them interact with the protagonist. It’s the end of the second book and we now have five girls plus Agent Smith. It’s not a huge deal. Just a personal preference. I’m certainly not going to stop reading, especially as there are a lot of volumes to get through. I think it’s currently at volume seventeen!
