Eve and Rose battle it out over nine holes without either giving an inch. Of course, the big surprise was how Eve handled an obstacle that was designed to defeat her straightforward approach to golf!

What happened?

Every shot Eve made, Rose matched her and bettered it a fraction. If she hit a long drive, Rose went longer. When Eve dropped her tee shot onto the top of the flag, Rose landed hers on Eve’s ball. However, they appeared to be evenly matched. It was going to come down to whoever made the first mistake and at the moment, both players were on top form.

The first sign of a problem appeared when Catherine had her guy generate a course that would cause Eve problems. A large rock formation blocked the direct route to the hole which meant that Eve would need to play three strokes just to get on the green. That was when Eve showed them that she had leant to slice a ball. She played around the rock and was ready to attack the green in two.

Rose put everything into her next stroke and managed to keep up, although her strength appeared to be going. Could she be about to break? Vipère seemed to think so. At the next tee, Eve hit a stunning drive that flew for almost three hundred feet. Rose tried to match it, putting her body on the line. After the shot, she screamed and dropped her club… no, her right forearm broke off entirely, falling to the ground still clutching her club!

I know I said that anything was possible in the last post, but I was not in any way prepared for Rose’s bionic arm! That was an amazing moment. Eve’s reaction was better than when Catherine saw Eve slice the ball. What a way to end the episode! It almost made me forget about all the fantastic action that preceded it. Almost…

This game was amazing. I loved the way Rose appeared to toy with Eve and the accuracy of their shots was unbelievable. Hitting the top of the flag was crazy and then for Rose to hit Eve’s ball was just as insane. It was just so much fun.

I loved how we were reminded of Aoi with the flashback to the VR game and how Eve learnt to slice from her. Part of me wonders if Rose knew, given that she was monitoring their conversations in the VR. I wonder if this is all planned so that Rose can get back at Catherine for something. We still don’t really know what she offered Catherine to get Eve into that tournament. I really didn’t think I would be this hyped for a golf anime, but here we are. This is a must-see anime. I have no doubts about that.
