What happened?

She was late to school again and that meant that she had to clean up. Fellow first-year, Haruka Misono was bunking off for the day and seemed determined to make Ichina agree to be her caddy. However, Ichina knew that Haruka wasn’t good enough yet. She didn’t have the power, the precision, or the mental fortitude to defeat Aoi Amaawashi. Haruka was a little taken back, but then a golf ball flew between them and then bounced along the fairway.

Haruka was furious and turned to see who hit it. Ichina, however, was amazed that it went so far. That was a professional-level drive. They hurried to the tee and found a blonde girl wearing street clothes. Ichina asked her if she could do that again and since Ichina reminded Eve of Lily, she agreed. This time the student president, Kinue Jinguji was watching with interest. She recognised Eve instantly.

Eve revealed that she was here to see Aoi and wasn’t leaving until she did. Kinue offered her the chance to see Aoi if she defeated Haruka in a one-hole match. That suited Eve perfectly. Ichina offered to caddy for Eve since she had never played the hole and Haruka was familiar with it. Eve destroyed Haruka and while Ichina had no part in the victory, she proved to Eve that she knew what she was doing and was a nice person. As soon as she won, Aoi arrived and ran to greet Eve.

What did you think?

Eve begins her new life in Japan and surprisingly discovers that she can speak Japanese. It’s the first sign that her past has something to do with Japan and could that lead to Aoi’s mother? I enjoyed the game between Eve and Haruka although felt a little sorry for Haruka who clearly couldn’t handle the pressure. Not sure if it was a dick move by the student president or a chance to show Haruka what she needs to do to step up.

For some reason, I knew Eve was going to dodge Aoi’s diving hug. She didn’t know why she did it either, but it was funny all the same. It’s funny that they basically replaced Lily with Ichina and made no attempt to hide the fact that they did with Eve noting the similarities. Anyhow, Eve is now attending the same school and will no doubt have some hard lessons coming her way.

I say hard lessons, but I doubt anyone is going to do worse than the Mafia would have. That said, the hardest thing that Eve needs to accomplish at the moment is learning her new name. If she has to consult her passport every time someone asks her it’s going to look mighty suspicious. I like the way this series is going and while this should be a little more chilled out than the first half of the season, I don’t think we can relax just yet.
