Favourite Hot Springs Episode (30 Days of Anime – Years 1 to 5) – Day 4

There is nothing quite like a nice hot soak to melt away the stress. Of course, the next best thing is a hot springs episode of anime. It’s one of my favourite tropes, so I slipped it into my 30 Days of Anime challenge!
Favourite Hot Springs Episode (30 Days of Anime – Years 1 to 5) – Day 4
Here are two things you should know about me. 1. I’m English so I spell favourite with a ‘u’. 2. I love hot springs episodes. In fact, it’s not just hot springs per se. I have a great affinity for beach episodes, pool episodes, and anything remotely similar. Anyhow, grab your swimsuit… or not… and let’s dive in!
Year 1 – High School Prodigies Have It Easy Even In Another World! (Episode 3)
In episode 3 of High School Prodigies Have It Easy Even In Another World!, Tuskasa decides that one of the first things he needs to do to win over the people is to build a hot springs. Of course, there’s more to it than just creating a place for people to relax. There are health benefits attached to washing and hygiene in general, so it’s a huge benefit to everyone. And sure, why not wear bikinis made out of leaves… I don’t see anyone complaining!

Year 2 – KonoSuba: God’s blessing on this wonderful world! (Episode 20)
Sometimes, there’s more to a hot springs episode than just a hot spring full of beautiful people… and this is one of those times. Sure, there is exactly what you would expect from a hot springs episode, but since this is KonoSuba: God’s Blessing on This Wonderful World!, things are a little different. The hot springs in question in located is also home to the Axis Cult, a scary group that worships Aqua. The mix of insane comedy and wet bodies is just sublime.

Year 3 – Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? III (OVA)
On the off chance that a series didn’t have time to squeeze a hot springs episode into the regular season, it’s not uncommon for them to release a bonus episode which is all hot springs. Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? has done this with the first three seasons and all of them are incredible. Since I watched all three of them in the same year, I am spoilt for choice. In the end, however, it was an easy choice. The OVA attached to the third season is just spectacular. Hermes, one of my favourite characters in the series steps up in a most unexpected way as they try to get to the bottom of this mysterious new hot springs. This OVA is hilarious.

Year 4 – The Hidden Dungeon Only I Can Enter (Episode 10)
Can you even call yourself a hero academy if there isn’t a class trip to the hot springs? Well, The Hidden Dungeon Only I Can Enter shows us that you can’t and it is utterly hilarious. However, there is one issue. What will stop the boys from trying to sneak a peek? Well, the girls decide that Noir is the man for the job… welcome to the friend zone, Noir! Anyhow, the boys are determined to peek which forces Noir and Elna, the instructor to fight them off, literally. Amazingly, Noir wins, although he uses up a lot of his LP (Lewd points) which he needs to use his skills. The girls decide to bring him into the bath blindfolded to help him recharge in more than one way! I was surprised by how much I enjoyed this series and this episode was one of my favourites.

Year 5 – Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead (Episode 8)
This was the episode of Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead that introduced us to Beatrix. She’s a girl from Germany who is a massive Japanophile, and she’s also awesome. Anyhow, they ended up finding a hot springs town and decided to dive in. Shizuka was a little less inspired, but Beatrix was ready to do it as the Japanese intended, naked. Unfortunately, the hot springs were already swimming with zombies, forcing them to run for their lives. They ended up climbing a cliff face and waiting for the zombies to leave. Later that night, Akira found a natural hot spring in the mountains. Shizuku was already there, but he didn’t notice until he got in. It turned out that Beatrix was right, bathing with friends was a great way to bond. It’s a great series with some great moments.

Final Thoughts!
Is it just me or do these images all seem a little cloudy? It must be the steam from the hot springs… Anyhow, when I was pulling together a list of categories for this challenge, this was the only one that I made up myself. Everything else was merged from existing challenges or was simply a favourite [enter genre here] type. I know, you’re welcome! Since this was such a relaxing post, tomorrow, I’ll be looking at my Favourite Action Anime. I hope you’re ready for a fight or two! Thanks for visiting.
