What happened?

The hot spring had become an instant success and was being praised for its healing properties which seemed to encompass every possible ailment. Bell and Welf had just finished their first visit when Bell was snatched from under Welf’s nose and taken somewhere private. It was actually the Miach Familia who had grabbed Bell in the hopes of getting him to help them find out the secret of the hot spring.

It had been built above an empty room of the dungeon below and therefore it couldn’t have been a natural hot spring. Of course, the God, Dian Cechy intervened with his Familia member, Amid Teasanare, a noted healer. He gave them some crappy coupons and then vanished. That was when Hermes emerged from the bench he’d been disguised as for the last three days waiting for something like this to happen.

Hermes was determined to get to the bottom of things and would require Bell’s help. After an initial investigation where they both drank some of the bathwater… which was apparently heavenly… they decided to put a much bigger operation in place. That required Bell, Hermes, and Welf to create a distraction allowing Miach’s Familia to infiltrate the bathhouse. What they found was truly shocking!

What did you think?

I am dying! This OVA was easily the best of the three and I still can’t stop laughing about it. Of course, it involved a hot spring once more which gave the cast a chance to relax in their birthday suits. Good times for everyone. However, it was Hermes that stole the show. When he emerged from the bench that Bell had been sitting on, it was pretty funny, but revealing that he’d been there for three days was too much. Then he convinced Bell to drink the bathwater and knowing how this ends, I’m certain he knew exactly what the water was.

Of course, it only got better as Hermes took Bell and Welf into the women’s bath to create a commotion. He was dressed in a tiger mask, Welf in a bull mask, and Bell with a pink wig. It was hilarious and not least because Asfi saved Hermes only so that she could punish him further. Then, when we found out where the source of the hot spring was, I almost died, remembering Hermes’ face as he drank mouthfuls…

What have you learnt?

Normally, I hate spoilers. However, during the third season of Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? I learnt something rather important about Syr. I’m not going to say anything more other than knowing what I know made that scene on the rope bridge that much funnier and it just furthers the general themes of this series. It almost feels a shame that it’s not a well-known secret or that it hasn’t really been teased much in the three seasons so far.

I often wonder if I’ve been too subtle with some of my secrets and revelations when I write and can’t help but wonder if this is another case of that or whether it wasn’t brought over from the light novels as they didn’t think it was important. Either way, it makes me want to make sure that I make the hints a little more obvious. I’m sure there will be others like me that will make the connections, but I want everyone to be able to do that. I just want more people to enjoy the little secrets as much as I do.
