Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? III (Episode 6) – Knossos | Man-Made Labyrinth

Bell re-entered the dungeon hidden within Ganesh’s Familia. Once there, he confronted Lyd who told him to run away or he’ll be associated with the monsters. But Bell can’t give up and with the help of Fels finds Dix!
What happened?
Gros and Lyd lead the Xeros to the eastern edge of floor eighteen after finding the poachers with Ranieh’s scent on them and beating the location out of them. However, there is no way for them to get in, not unless someone opens the door for them. Of course, Dix seems to be quite excited about catching them and does just that.
Meanwhile, Ryu Lion gives Bell a bag of items in the hopes that something will be able to help him after she was unable to convince him to return to the surface with her. She wanted to ensure he doesn’t get involved in Evilus’ plans, but she sees that there is no stopping him. While searching for Lyd, Bell runs into Fels who is able to open the secret door with one of the items Ryu gave Bell. Inside they discover a dungeon built by Daedalus.
Hermes tracked down Ikelos and makes him explain all. In the dungeon, Dix gives Bell and Fels an explanation as well, revealing that he is the descendant of Daedalus and is compelled to continue to build his dungeon and capturing monsters to sell is how they fund it. Dix casts a curse on the Xeros which drives them wild. Bell, however, was protected by Fels and must defeat Dix if he has any chance of rescuing Weine. Meanwhile, the strongest Xeros is on his way!

What did you think?
I loved this episode. Rather than trying to cram in too much or drag things out, we focused on pretty much one thing and it all worked. It was interesting to learn about Daedalus and his man-made dungeon, although I find it odd that this series loves to tell us what’s going on through two different conversations that appear to be happening concurrently. It’s done it several times in this season alone, and more in previous ones. Another thing that bothers me is the item that Ryu gave to Bell. My hope is that she knew what she was giving him and it wasn’t just a lucky occurrence. That would be a little too fortunate. I also hope that the team-up of Ryu and Aisha wasn’t just so that she could deliver that item to Bell.

What have you learnt?
I think this series works best when it’s Bell going up against something that is more powerful than him. Since we’ve seen Bell work his way up from the bottom, the opponent has gotten stronger and stronger. In season one, he started off against a regular minotaur and was easily outclassed. He came back stronger and defeated a stronger minotaur, and then a floor boss. Now, he’s going gup against Dix who is a level five adventurer so the stakes are set once more. This is when Bell shines and I can’t wait to see how this goes. Another prediction that I’m going to throw out is that the minotaur, the strongest Xenos, that is on its way to help will have memories of fighting Bell, possibly twice. That should make things interesting.
