Booty Royale: Never Go Down Without a Fight! (Volume 16) – I am an Entertainer!

What happened?

The tag-team catfight was quickly getting out of control, especially with the water guns full of supper itchy lube that the crowd were firing at everyone. Sara closed in on Alevtina who could barely stand from the itchiness, but Misora dived into the ring and sent her flying. However, she soon became the target of the water gun while Maria had pretty much given up on the fight to satisfy her needs with the crowd. The referee (also the producer) tried to appeal to Sara because things were going too far. If it kept up, they would undoubtedly be banned from the venue. She refused to budge and then pinned Misora while sitting on her face.

Maria came back into the ring with Sara to enjoy their first victory, however, it was the best of three and while they were complacent, Misora grabbed them both and told Alevtina to take them all down. She did, winning them the match. Misora was not happy about the event and when it came to the rematch between her and Sara, she refused. Well, she would have if she hadn’t signed a contract for two matches. Misora lost and became a disgusting milk fountain… Seriously, it’s best not to ask…

Misora’s next adventure involved visiting a remote hiking cabin famous for its hot springs. The director, however, also wanted her to find the secret one hidden in the mountains that was used by monkeys. So, she set off with her cameraman and soon got lost in a blizzard. They made a shelter and waited for the storm to pass. Given the situation, Misora used her body heat to keep the cameraman from losing his fingers to frostbite. One thing led to another and they ended up masturbating. That’s as far as Misora was willing to go!

Soon after they returned, having found the monkey hot spring, Misora was offered a job that was much more in her ballpark. They were going to offer a huge prize to anyone who could defeat her, and it was open to everyone. Once the applications had been collected, they selected eight fighters and gave Misora the option of a tournament where she would face the victor or a battle royale with all nine fighters free to battle whoever they found. She chose the battle royale since she had accepted that she was an entertainer and that would be the most entertaining scenario. This was prompted by Akira who revealed that she was planning on continuing her law studies in the United States and Beruko’s decision to retire from the KGB as she was going to marry her boyfriend, the German football star!

What did you think?

This volume finished off the catfight arc which is one that I didn’t really enjoy. That was mostly because it felt out of character for Misora. Sure, she gets into unreal erotic situations, but she always manages to fight her way out of them. This put Misora and Alevtina into a situation that felt out of character. It also continued to showcase Sara which is not a good thing in my book. The hot spring arc was a little better, but it still didn’t do much to encourage me that the series was going to recover. That was the one-hundredth chapter so I feel like Rui Takato wanted to show exactly where Misora’s limits are.

After that, we got to see more of Utako as she began to develop her acting career. Unfortunately, it was with a renowned womanising director who stole Utako away. Luckily, Mao Mao was able to track her down with the Yajime’s help. Iba also showed up to put the sex pest director in his place. Yet another reminder of the darker underbelly of the entertainment industry and how it’s not confined to the adult side of the business. It was nice seeing Mao Mao come to save Utako, however, Utako, like Misora, is going to have to get better at reading these situations, especially as these guys never seem to get any real comeuppance.

Luckily, that was the end of the downward slide as Misora signed up for a battle royale with eight other fighters. There were some returning characters in the form of Umezawa Mayu from the Valkyrie Opera. She ended up being the referee in the final after being defeated in the earlier stages. There was also disgraced Romanian sumo wrestler, Dorakuryuu who wanted to get back at Misora for earlier in the series. Dorothea van Schreier entered under an alias so that she could get her revenge too. Imamiya Ebisu, the young boxer who was the reserve in the Valkryie Opera also joined in the hopes of reviving her image. Beruko’s bodybuilder friend, Muscle Yamakita was another competitor and then there were several renowned martial artists looking to make a name for themselves. That was much more like the series that I had come to love. I’m looking forward to seeing the conclusion in the next volume.

However, this volume also felt like it was hinting at the end of the series. We’ve still got a few unanswered questions such as what happened to Misora’s father, but I get the feeling that Akira going to the United States and Beruko moving to Germany sets this up for Misora to bring things to a close in Japan, which I think would be the end of the series. I might be wrong, but that’s the feeling I’m getting.
