Inosuke tells Tanjiro that the Demon is in his house. However, Tengen tells them to go home and that he’s put them in unnecessary danger. Zenitsu has already gone missing. Who will be next?

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba: Yuukaku-hen (Episode 4) – Tonight

What happened?

Zenitsu vanished from his room. When the housemaster is asked if they should search for him he says no and tells her is ashinuke. He gets quite irate when pushed on the topic too. Zenitusu will be added to the list of missing girls.

Tanjiro and Inosuke meet up and discuss their findings so far. Inosuke is certain the demon is in his house and urges Tanjiro to meet with him so they can track it down. Before they can make any plans, Tengen appears out of nowhere and tells them that they should go home. He has put them in unnecessary danger and he’s sorry. He tells them that the only winner is the one that survives, so walk away while they still can.

Of course, they’re not about to do that. Tanjiro visits his house’s oiran, Koinatsu. She tells him that she knew he was a man from the start and was just curious to see what he was up to. He gives her some money to give the madame for his food and lodgings before leaving to meet up with Inosuke. However, on the way there, he notices a smell and hurries back to his house where the demon is eating Koinatsu!

What did you think?

Yes! Give me more of this. I’m already loving Daki. She seems to be crazy but also kind of fun… By fun, I mean she’s kind of hot and her powers are brilliantly strange. Did her obi sash eat Koinatsu the way a python eats its prey? It certainly seemed that way, although I highly doubt that she is killing them in that way because she took Zenitsu and this is a shounen so he’s not going to die and certainly not in such an unflashy way!

The way Daki fights reminds me of Doctor Octopus from Spider-Man and Kiriha from Tsugumomo. It’s all very flashy and I love that Tanjiro is already in a position where he can’t back down. Help is obviously on the way in the form of Inosuke and you know Tengen is going to show up just when he’s needed. Anyhow, did you see the muscle mice? It was funny, but why do they insist on these things when the darker side of the series is so much better?

The way it’s going, I can see this season descending into one long fight and I am here for that eventuality. That beautiful flashy eventuality. Let’s get it on!

What have you learnt?

Another thing that has bothered me since the beginning of the series is how little Nezeko is used. She’s with Tanjiro almost all of the time, but when the fights start, he seems to tuck her away and try to keep her out of it. The times, she has come out of the box, she’s been incredible and turned many fights in his favour. Given her strengths, she should be an integral part of Tanjiro’s strategy.

Why aren’t they training together? It takes everything for the Hashira just to keep up with an Upper Six demon so why not give yourself an advantage by using the one demon that doesn’t seem to be beholden to Muzan Kibutsuji? I’m sure she’ll get her moment this season. Hopefully, sooner rather than later!
