Peter Grill and the Philosopher’s Time (Episode 2) – Peter Grill and the Future Father-in-Law
What happened?
Luvelia has called on Peter to talk about their trip home and the announcement of their engagement. Meanwhile, he’s trying to hide the naked Alpacas sisters in his closet. Why won’t they stay in there? Amazingly, Luvelia doesn’t notice and they return to the guild house where Luvelia’s father refuses their request. However, Luvelia is prepared to cut ties entirely with her father unless he reconsiders. He does and a party is arranged to celebrate the engagement and Peter’s victory at the tournament.
During the party, Peter finds himself alone for a moment, but then the Alpacas show up and demand that Peter keeps helping them to bear strong children. He can’t believe they would continue after the announcement. Luckily, they promise to keep it quiet if he keeps helping them out… Then, he hears Luvelia’s footsteps and he doesn’t have time to put on pants or hide the Alpacas so he moves the table over them and hides his naked lower half behind the table cloth. He may yet get away with it, but then the Guild Master wants to talk to Luvelia and needs Peter’s chair!

What did you think?
I can’t stop laughing even though I know this is a pretty dark comedy. Peter just wants to marry Luvelia, but they keep harassing him and now appear to be blackmailing him in a way. Still, it’s hilarious watching Peter cave to the minutest bit of pressure from the Alpacas sisters. It’s funny and it shouldn’t be, but I can’t help myself. I just love how absurd it is and how Peter seems to think it’ll all work out. I loved his line at the end where he was wondering why people can only think clearly after they’ve made the mistake!
Of course, all of that is wrong and oh so funny, but it was the interactions with the Guild Master that really made me laugh. Peter was sitting there with no pants on and two hot ogres hiding beneath the table and the Guild Master wanted his chair. Peter had to grow a significant pair of balls to stand up to him, but any movement and he would have been busted. There was no way he was going to explain that. Of course, the Alpacas didn’t help him by poking him from beneath the table. Poor Peter!
