Peter Grill and the Philosopher’s Time (Episode 11) – Peter Grill and Dueling Manners
What happened?
Peter Grill had considered throwing the fight. That way he would be rid of Spartokos and the Alpacas sisters. However, Lisa knew this might happen and invited Luvelia to watch, accompanied by Mimi who will tell her everything if he loses. Now, he has no choice but to win. Spartokos begins the fight by chastizing Peter and revealing that he has forgone all sexual encounters to perfect his fighting style. Now, the crowd want Peter to go easy on him so that he might have a chance with Lisa. Of course, Peter can’t do that.
Peter Grill wins easily and faces the wrath of the crowd. Spartokos begs Lisa for another chance, which she agrees to. This time, he will fight her. Once everyone has gone, Spartokos begs Peter Grill to train him so that he can defeat Lisa. He’s not sure it’s a good idea, but then Vegan and Pancetta show up and point out that if Spartokos can defeat Lisa she’ll go. He finally agrees and begins the training. However, during one session he notices that Mitchy, the guild receptionist has been bringing lunches to Spartokos. What could that mean?
What did you think?
Hold up! Where was the scene where Peter wakes up full of regret and despair at what he did the night before? This episode felt out of place for its absence, however, I did love the way everything turned against Peter. He wanted to lose, the crowd wanted him to lose, Spartokos wanted him to lose, but since Lisa didn’t he was helpless. It was funny how easily he won and the regret on his face as the crowd booed and threw things at him… So, that’s where that scene went!
The build-up to the fight was definitely the best part of the episode. The training did have some funny moments, but nothing that came close to the events of previous episodes. It’s fairly obvious that Mitchy likes Spartokos because of her muscle fetish and that’s going to scupper Peter’s plans to get rid of the Alpacas sisters. I can’t imagine the fight between Spartokos and Lisa will last long either and then Spartokos will be free to go with Mitchy. I guess everyone comes away happy… well, Peter is, he just doesn’t know it yet!
