My Dress-Up Darling (Episode 3) – Then Why Don’t We?
What happened?
Gojou had a dream about Marin trying on the Shizuku-tan cosplay for the first time and her personality switching to that of Shizuku-tan, star of the eroge – Saint Slippery’s Academy for Girls games. He wakes up moments later more than a little flustered. After that, he hopes to be able to go through the day without seeing Marin. That would be too awkward.
Of course, Marin spots Gojou and calls out to him, and suddenly everyone is aware that she knows him. Soon, all of her friends have gathered around and one even notices that he’s feeling incredibly uncomfortable. Marin heads off to class and tells Gojou that she’ll see him later, prompting the school gossip mill to spin.

Gojou is concerned that people will think inappropriate things about Marin and tries to avoid her. He even runs when she tells him she wants to take him shopping at the end of the day. He thinks he’s got away, but Marin tracked him down and demanded an explanation. He told her that people might think they were dating. To that, she said, “Why don’t we?”, causing Gojou’s head to almost explode.
She was just joking, but was incredibly serious about shopping and dragged him to the shops to find supplies for her costume. Gojou showed her his sketch of the costume and completely blew her mind. It’s a good thing he came as Marin wanted to buy all the wrong things. The last thing on their list is the garter and stockings. Gojou discovers a level of uncomfortableness that he never imagined existed.

What did you think?
I literally cannot get enough of this series and have no idea how anyone was able to watch it weekly without at least attempting to build a time machine. Luckily for me, I’m watching it after it fully aired and can get my daily Marin fix. She is absolutely delightful. I love the way she teases Gojou but also constantly has his back. She’s not bothered by school gossip or even what others think. It’s so refreshing to see characters with this level of self-confidence.
And then there’s Gojou. Well, this episode set us up for the moment that he inadvertently tells Marin what he thinks about her. I don’t know when, but he will tell her she looks beautiful, a word that holds such intense meaning to him, and she will remember. I can’t wait for that moment. I’m also enjoying the comedic elements and this episode had some great ones. Marin searching for Gojou all across the school, the conversation outside the restaurant about the guy that couldn’t stop ejaculating, and Gojou discovering he has two weeks to make the cosplay. On top of that, I’d love one of those meat-wrapped onigiris, they look amazing!
