The Coffin group cosplay is going amazingly, however, Sajuna is struggling with the horror side of things. Then, there’s the conflict between Akira and Marin. At least, Wakana seems to be having fun!
My Dress-Up Darling (Volume 11) – We Fail at Adulting, Okay?!
What happened?
After convincing Sajuna to cosplay as Neon Nikaidou, she reveals that she is considering giving up cosplay. She doesn’t go to conventions and thinks she might be getting too old for it, however, seeing Suzuka and Miyako getting excited about it, she wasn’t sure what to do. They told her that you may have less time, but you have more money so they often end up blowing too much on props and clothes. Anyhow, it’s time to get on with the coffin cosplay so they all head off to get ready. Well, not before Marin asks them if Akira has a problem with her. They don’t respond, but Marin thinks she has a good idea.
Everyone arrives with their creepy makeup already applied and goes in to get dressed. The shot is based on a game about a group of nuns. However, one of them is mentally unstable and some horrific stuff happens. It was too much for Sajuna who couldn’t even finish the game. However, since it was Shinju’s idea, she couldn’t let her sister down. She makes it through the photoshoot without looking at the insane props and blood splattering that Wakana revealed. He finds her afterwards, hiding in the break room and tells her that Shinju would understand, but he thinks she’s cool for doing it for her sister.
Meanwhile, Marin walks in on Akira and instantly tries to back out, but Shinju sees them and asks to get some photos of them together. Marin tries to explain that Akira doesn’t like her, but the truth finally comes out. Akira stans Marin. She fell in love with her after the Neon photoshoot and is afraid that she will go total fangirl if left alone with her. She’ll probably cry, which she does. Of course, Marin is absolutely delighted and makes things even more intense for Akira. After the cleanup, they’re about to head to the after party where Marin plans on telling Wakana that she likes him. However, talk of a convention and another cosplay gets Wakana excited and he rushes out to grab the manga. Marin will have to wait!

So, I was right about there being a misunderstanding about Akira’s feelings for Marin, however, I got the reason wrong. Of course, it makes sense that Akira fell in love with Marin’s cosplay and now can’t handle being around her because it’s too much and she doesn’t want to appear like a hopeless loser. As it’s Marin, there’s no chance of that. She’s delighted to hear that Akira feels that way. I loved the Coffin cosplay with all the blood and scary props, however, I did find it a little hard to tell who was who for most of the scene. I understand that they were supposed to be fairly alike, but it was a little confusing.
Now down to business. I can’t believe Marin let Wakana run out of the after-party before she could confess her feelings for him! We need to know how that goes! We really, really need to know! Also, I wonder who Fukuda is referencing with the Tokiao Shiba mangaka who refuses to let his work become an anime. That feels too real for it to be complete fiction. Anyhow, we’ve got another interesting cosplay to look forward to, and hopefully a confession. I wonder how Wakana will react. Will he even believe her?
And finally, Akira is all of us! It’s too easy to fall in love with Marin. How can I order ten copies of that magazine to demand more Marin? I jest! There are plenty of Marin-related things for us in the real world to buy. It’s all for the Princess!
