Parallel Paradise (Volume 15) – The Robot Girl Unleashed!

Yota stood before Mimi, one of the High Guardians ready to fight for the future of this world and then he died. Mimi took that as divine intervention and then decided to punish all who stood against her. However, Lomi has other ideas!
Parallel Paradise (Volume 15) – The Robot Girl Unleashed!
What happened?
Yota had died in his world after his life support had been switched off, meaning that he died in this world too. Rumi rushed to his side terrified that he would not be able to come back. Mimi took her chance to enjoy handing out death sentences to anyone who stood against them. After killing several of the guards, she was surprised to see Lomi standing before her. What could that worthless guardian possibly do to stop her? The reason that Lomi acted like a robot was that she accidentally killed another guardian when they were training. She was simply too strong. Since then, she has acted like a robot, refusing to raise her fists against another for fear of killing them too.
Not this time. This was the first time that Lomi thought that the world would be a better place without her opponent. Lomi knocked Mimi down with a kick and then caught her whip, pulling her close enough that she couldn’t avoid Lomi’s fist. Mimi was absolutely helpless against her might. Then, Yuma stopped the fight, telling Mimi that she had lost and that she should accept it. Defiantly, she refused to accept that they would let traitors simply run free. Then, they bound her, revealing that they too had decided to go against the Empress. After all, they had the male and Yota had died twice before so they were sure he would be back. Rumi wasn’t so hopeful!

Back in Yota’s world, Lilia appeared before his lifeless body. She was relieved that he had died in this world and not the other since there was still a chance to bring him back. Lilia kicked the table sending his body crashing to the floor. Two nurses rushed in and found him. They were surprised to see that the table had toppled over and even more so when they discovered that he was alive. Yota’s consciousness rushed back to the other world where he was greeted by the woman he saw the first time he travelled between worlds. Then, he was back in his body, lying on the floor beside Rumi.
She was delighted to see that he was still alive, as were Yuma and Toreese who had just openly defied the Empress before they realised that Yota might not come back. Yuma told Lomi to take Yota to the guestroom so that he could recover. She was also tasked with watching over him. In the guestroom Lomi reverted to her robot persona, trying to keep a distance between them. However, she was finding it harder and harder to resist him, especially as he told her that he wanted to mate with her. Lomi raced out of the room, but came back, revealing that she wanted to mate too… and so they did… all night long!

The next morning, Piano came to bring Yota to Yuma and was surprised to find him lying beside Lomi, both naked! After cleaning up, Yota went to see Yuma and explained that they were hoping to restore Nishina’s memories so that they could find a way to break the curse. They had even come up with a way to do that and it involved the witch, Sandra, however, they still needed to pay her with a living human brain. Yuma decided that they would use Mimi since they were going to execute her anyway. At least this way, she would be useful.
However, Mimi was busy talking Lomi into fighting her once more. Surprisingly, Lomi agreed, although that was once she learned that Mimi killed and ate all of the girls who went hunting and never came back in her hopes of becoming a witch. It looked like Mimi was going to win after catching Lomi off guard with a dirty trick. However, Lomi was more than a match for her and turned the tables instantly by gouging Mimi’s eyes. Yuma once more arrived to stop the fight, especially since they needed Mimi’s brain to pay the witch. Meanwhile, the witch received a strange visitor at her home.

The next day, they headed to Sandra’s house to recover Nishina’s memories. She seemed to accept the payment of Mimi’s brain but chose to eat it later. Instead, she took them all inside and prepared to restore Nishina’s memories. Yuma stood behind Nishina with her sword hanging over her head. Sandra told Nishina that she needn’t worry. However, as soon as it was completed, Yuma sliced Nishina in two. Yota was furious. He knew that it wouldn’t work either and that all they did was cause Nishina more pain. Not exactly something you should do to the God of Jealousy.
Of course, Nishina’s body repaired itself, however, she looked at Yota and recognised him. She remembered falling from the window with him and then waking up in Sandrio. Her human memories had returned, but nothing of her time as the Jealous God. Sandra revealed that there was still a way to lift the curse as there was a God-killing sword that would be able to kill Nishina. However, since Yota refused to use it, Yuma sent him flying. Rumi went to stand against Yuma too, but suffered the same fate. Unfortunately for her, only a male could wield the God-killing sword. She had Toreese heal Yota and watch over him as they prepared to recover the sword.

What did you think?
I loved seeing Lomi regain her confidence and I even thought the build-up to her mating with Yota was nicely done for a change. He’s definitely been a bit too much of a jerk of late. I do have lots of questions about this volume (as I do with all of them) for example, how did Lilia revive Yota in his world? The other key moment in this volume was the strange figure who visited with Sandra before she restored Nishina’s memories. The fact that she didn’t eat Mimi’s brains there and then implies that something is off about the whole thing, so Nishina not remembering everything also feels fishy. Either her memories will come back soon or she has them and is willingly pretending that she doesn’t.
Also, the information about the God-killing sword seems false. I think she’s sending them on a wild goose chase which will not end well for everyone involved. I am also curious as to what will happen with Yota in his world. Will he just live without life support going forward, which seems unlikely, or will his father decide to put it back on and let him live on in that condition? Like I said, lots and lots of questions. I still need to know why Mei died despite mating with Yota and what that means for Hanahana and Lilia. Do we even know if they actually die when they disappear? Surely, it’s possible that they are simply being taken somewhere else, maybe another world!
In fact, the more I think about things, the less I seem to know about what is going on. It’s all smoke and mirrors… well, smoke, mirrors, and lots of sex…
