Parallel Paradise (Volume 7) – He Has Two Options: Mate or Die!
What happened?
Rumi explains to Maya that she needs to head to Sandrio to meet with Yota. However, she knows nothing about Sandrio and that makes Maya laugh. Sandrio is a town hidden within a vicious never-ending sandstorm. Get too close and it will tear you to pieces. However, the guardians will know who Rumi is and while it seems unlikely that they will let her in, they will probably listen to her. That might be the best chance Maya has… She agrees to take them to Sandrio, but first, they will need to head to her base where the resistance is waiting.
Like Rumi, she too wants to kill the Jealous God, however, the guardians of Sandrio are currently protecting it. They believe that waking the god will free them from the curse, contrary to what all the local gods have revealed. At the resistance base, Rumi meets Arles, a clumsy girl who wears a jester hat. She wants to be Rumi’s apprentice and one day become a guardian despite that ship having sailed. Anyhow, Maya will take Rumi to visit the local god in the ruins of old Sandrio before they attempt to enter the sandstorm.
Meanwhile, Yota discovers that he was found by the Guardians of Sandrio and brought back with the sole purpose of making him mate with the inhabitants. He will do that over and over again until everyone has been saved. Yota tries to reason with them by explaining that he will kill the Jealous God and save everyone. However, the Guardians reveal that the Jealous God is under their protection. They are waiting for the Silver-Haired Witch Galia who can awaken the Jealous God. Yota must simply mate or die.
In his first break from mating, Yota tries to escape only to find the Guardian, Vanille standing before him. She threatens to shoot him in the legs if he continues since he doesn’t need legs to mate. However, Yota reaches out and touches her face, sending her wild with lust. He was about to walk past her as she quivered on the floor, but she begged him to mate with her since this would be her last chance if he left. He reluctantly agrees and once he’s done, they are interrupted by Elza who tells him to get back in his room and mate or die!
Maya and Rumi set off to visit with Vulcan the local god who warns them about Galia and he attempts to enter Sandrio. While they are doing that, Arles, who managed to convince Rumi to take her with them is off hunting a bikini rabbit… Vulcan wouldn’t be surprised if Galia didn’t try to sneak in behind them, however, he’s never seen Galia up close but knows that she is a terrifying prospect that they would do best to avoid. Regardless, Rumi is going to try. They’ve heard rumours that a human male was recently taken to Sandrio so it has to be Yota.
Yota finished his next quota of girls and found himself alone with Elza for the first time. She reveals that she is going to mate with him and plans on tormenting him the entire time. She begins by urinating on his face before, cutting his chest with her scythe. Anytime, he objects or looks at her funnily, she strikes him with the dull end of her blade. However, she hadn’t counted on Yota’s strength. He had been able to loosen the knot that bound him to the bed and sent her flying. Then, she started to crumble. How hard had he hit her? She revealed that it was her last moon and she was beginning to die. Yota tried to reason with her and then mated with her, however, it didn’t save her. Elza died and vanished as Yota climaxed.
The other Guardians returned from their travels and arrived just as Elza vanished. They were disappointed that she left it so long, but also none of them seemed that happy to see Yota anyhow. They left him in his room and began preparations for some magic vessel. All they needed now was Galia to complete their plans and revive the Jealous God. Yota, however, had had enough. He blocked his door and broke the planks of wood blocking the window. Outside he saw the remains of skyscrapers, reaching out of the sand. Was this hell?
What did you think?
This series just gets better and better… well, for us anyhow. For Yota, this is turning into the very real hell that it’s been teasing for a while now. Being bound to a bed and forced to mate continuously isn’t exactly what he was probably hoping for when he figured out how this world worked, but he should have been expecting it to happen. There’s been more than enough warnings. One thing that strikes me as being interesting is that the Guardians knew that Yota was dead when they found him. Did they know that he would come back or were they just hoping that mating with a dead guy would work too?
I’m guessing they knew he would be back which makes me think that it’s more than just Lilia bringing him back. I think that one of these Guardians will not develop a mark on her neck if she mates with Yota. The Guardians are selected when they appear in this world so it’s possible that several are different and made to keep an eye on the others and report back on strange things. Obviously, there’s probably much more to it since Lilia was the person who brought Yota her in the first place… before she knew him… so maybe there’s some time travel or something similar. The mystery just seems to get more and more complex with each volume.
Now to Maya and her silver hair. Could Maya be the Galia, the Silver-haired Witch? That’s what it wants us to think. When Vulcan revealed that he had never seen Galia up close, it made it possible for it to still be Galia. However, who was the person watching them? All things seem to point to Arles who was “hunting a bikini rabbit” which would make sense as to why she begged to come along. Of course, the big reveal was the view from Yota’s bedroom window which made it look like this was the distant future and that he was still on Earth. I’d like to see how they explain this one, especially the two moons we saw in the first volume. I can’t wait for this all to make sense. It’s exhilarating.
