Now that the Seven Days have been stopped, Rimuru and Luminous have a little meeting to discuss the future of their nations. They’re also keen to find out who has been pulling the strings.
That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime (Episode 59) – Reconciliation and Agreement
What happened?
After the failed attempt to dispose of Hinata or Rimuru, the Merchants from the Eastern Empire decided that since they have no reason to make an enemy of Rimuru, then they are not going to continue to work as closely with the Western Merchants. Granbell Rozzo is not happy about any of these developments even though it was his fault as a member of the Seven Days for strengthening the bond between Rimuru and Hinata. A bond that will no doubt lead to a lasting peace between Rimuru’s and Luminous’ nations. Of course, the worry is that they’ll someday tie it all back to him.
Meanwhile, Luminous and Rimuru are already in discussion of how to move forward. There’s the small matter of monsters being considered evil by the Holy Church, of which Luminous is the god. Well, maybe they can recognise dwarves as people and that would create a link between them. A peace agreement for the next hundred years should allow them to slowly reverse the beliefs that monsters are evil. After all, the Saints are all in agreement, especially, Ritus who seems to have become quite fond of Souei after they battled. Just what did Souei do? We may never know!
There’s more talk of who was behind the Seven Days attempts to destabilize everything. At first, Luminous couldn’t believe that they were working against her, but even Louis confirmed that stance. However, they still believe that someone else was orchestrating their efforts. Clayman hinted at a mastermind before he died. Rimuru believes that Yuuki Kagurazaka is the prime suspect and Hinata isn’t about to rule him out. Well, with all of that taken care of, it’s time for Luminous and Hinata to head home… well, that is unless they want to stay for some more food…
What did you think?
We got to spend more time with the undisputed star of this season -Rimuru’s meeting table. I think it’s had more screen time than anyone else. Obviously, I’m joking. but it has definitely had more than its fair share. I do enjoy the world-building and discussions that will shape this world, however, it doesn’t exactly make it easy to write up a review without detailing everything that was said, and I’m not about to do that. I’m glad that Rimuru believes that it might be Yuuki and I was surprised that Hinata wasn’t entirely sure because I recall seeing a picture of him telling her that Rimuru killed Shizu. Of course, it would be a problem if they decided it was him and then just went and finished him off. However, with Soeui on his side, surely Rimuru could have one of his copies spying on Yuuki around the clock. It wouldn’t take long to confirm his suspicions.
As always, the parties are fun to watch and this one was a little more exciting as Rimuru got drunk and revealed a load of state secrets. Thankfully, Raphael was quick to put an end to his ability to get drunk ever again. We also heard more about the angels and how they seem to destroy any society that is getting too technologically advanced. No doubt they will be a key part of the second half of this season. Anyhow, it was another interesting episode even if nothing much happened.
Very tragic for slime that his protective anti-toxin system has decided not to let him get drunk again.
Yeah. Good job we have Raphael to keep him under control else he’d spill all the secrets!
