Yuuna and the Haunted Hot Springs (Volume 16) – A Family Wedding!

Sagiri has agreed to marry Shakuhito Yoinozaka and the marriage is being fast-tracked. Kogarashi isn’t too happy that Sagiri is doing something like this as a mission, instead of following her heart. He’s also less than impressed by Shakuhito.
Yuuna and the Haunted Hot Springs (Volume 16) – A Family Wedding!
What happened?
After her first date with Shakuhito, Sagiri finds herself with a number of questions. Firstly, how did this happen, and secondly, why is Kogarashi in her bath? The second question is answered fairly quickly, however, her startled reaction has alerted Shakuhito who is waiting outside the bathroom for her. He rushes in, but luckily Sagiri pushed Kogarashi under the water and sat on him. That gave Kogarashi to hear first-hand what Shakuhito is like. His goal is to tame Sagiri by breaking her will. He sees her determination and the idea of crushing that is all he can think about.
Kogarashi tries to convince her not to go through with it, but she is determined not to let the Demon Slayer Ninja clan down. However, Kogarashi isn’t the only one who objects. Hibari and Urakata don’t like it either. Urakata did some digging and she believes the Yoinozaka clan is making a power play now that everyone’s spirit energy is depleted from fighting Garandou. They follow Sagiri into the wedding ceremony and Hibari does something unthinkable, drawing the wraith of the head of the Yoinozaka clan. However, he can’t punish her as Kogarashi appears to block his attack.
The other members of Yuragi-sou arrive to help, but this was all part of the plan too. If he can eliminate the Tenko Genryusai and Yatahagane in one go then no one will be able to stop them. However, Obaba knew that the Yoinozaka were up to something and had every member of the Demon Slayer Ninja clan collecting spirit stones so that Kogarashi could recover his strength. Not only that, Sagiri developed a new technique for breaking into spirit armour and defeated Shakuhito singlehandedly. The balance of power had shifted. Once the fight was over, Sagiri confessed her feelings for Kogarashi… in a fairly threatening manner…

What did you think?
Wow! This story is really cooking now. Hot of the mess with the Tenko clan, we get to dive straight into a dispute with the Yoinozaka clan. It definitely felt like the Yoinozaka were up to something but also it could have just as easily been the fact that Shakuhito was a complete ass-hat. I’m glad that both things were true! I also loved that Sagiri created a new technique to battle Spirit Armour based on what they learned from Yuuna when she fought Tenko Byakeui. However, that was nothing compared to the way she confessed to Kogarashi. I was laughing so hard. It was the perfect Sagiri confession.
After that, we got to enjoy a couple of shorter arcs. One involved Nakai who was abusing her luck manipulation and paid for it when her clothes started to disappear since they were actually leaf talismans. There was another where Chisaki decided that she needed to up her game since Sagiri had joined the group of girls vying for Kogarashi’s affection, however, she decided that the upcoming school trip would be the place to do it. There was also an incident with bath salts that made everyone act on their desires… poor Kogarashi. And finally, we got to see Yumesaki take Yaya and Shion on a trip around the world courtesy of their dreams and a web browser. Well, that was until Hyoudou started to interfere with the searches… Another great volume. I can’t believe I’m closing in on the end now!
