Yuuna and the Haunted Hot Springs (Volume 11) – Can’t Take My Eyes Off of You
What happened?
Everyone quickly embraces the idea with Koyuzu using her leaf powers to change their costumes mid-performance. Sagiri and Hibari use their Ninja powers to add tricks while Yaya summons her nekogami for help. Even Urara uses one of her abilities to give everyone at the concert the ability to see with spirit powers. Their show is a massive hit which forces the producer of the Twinkles to apologise for what she said and is prepared to represent them should they choose to go pro. It’s a no from Sagiri!
Hibari is struggling with her schoolwork after putting so much effort into the performance. Then, she bumps into Kogarashi who is prepared to help her. However, she doesn’t want anyone else to know she’s having a hard time so she makes Kogarashi hide from Chisaki and Seri by making him invisible… well, not his clothes so they have to improvise. Then, he sneaks into her room at night to help her prepare for the exam which she aces, even though they both fell asleep studying.
Nakai gives Yuuna a coupon that is valid at any of the hotels in the area so she invites Kogarashi to come stay with her. She goes out of her way to help him relax and ends up passing out from the heat of the hot springs. Kogarashi tells her that he’s just happy that he has a nice place to come home to where people welcome him when he does. His life before Yuragi-sou must have been hard. Meanwhile, a fox spirit has come to Yuragi-sou because she believes that Yuuna is the spirit of a former member of one of the three big families. Who would dare mess with them now?
What did you think?
There was a lot less Nonko and Matora in this volume but I guess it’s not going to always be like that. I was glad to see the end of the idol arc, but it wasn’t bad, just not my thing. Of course, things picked up again with the arc where Kogarashi was helping Hibari study. I had to laugh at him hiding beneath the table naked and invisible when Chisaki came into the cafe too. The couples shower climbing arc was good too, although Shion ended up falling for Kogarashi even more, although she won’t do anything because she loves Chisaki too… Possible love triangle alert!
I liked that we might be inching closer to finding out who Yuuna is. The idea that she is from the remaining of the big three houses is hilarious with Kogarashi and Nonko being from the other two. Then we learned that Sagiri and Hibari have been given a mission to marry Kogarashi and bring his bloodline into the Demon Ninja Slayers. Hibari even went to Yumesaki for help, but that just showed us how hard Yumesaki has had things with her uncontrollable succubus powers. And finally, Genshirou is back causing problems for Yuuna and now, Oboro. The next volume should settle things there, but it’s left things in a fairly tense situation. I love this series and have zero regrets about collecting the entire series. Worth every penny.
