BOFURI: I Don’t Want to Get Hurt, so I’ll Max Out My Defense (Episode 14) – Maxing Defense, Level 5, and Level 6

BOFURI Title

Maple had a cold the day Level Five was released so she didn’t get to defeat the boss with the rest of Maple-Tree. As soon as she’s better though, she’s going to take it on alone… if she can find it, that is!

BOFURI: I Don’t Want to Get Hurt, so I’ll Max Out My Defense (Episode 14) – Maxing Defense, Level 5, and Level 6

What happened?

Maple is wandering around Level Four when she finds two oni statues that appear to be doing a strange dance. Never one to miss an opportunity to goof around, Maple copies the dance and is teleported to another area. There, she faces a man with long white hair. She thinks she’s found the level boss, but this is something else entirely. He blocks everything she throws at him and even has a piercing attack, Maple’s one real weakness. Finally, she detonates the core of [Machine God], hoping that it’ll do more damage to her opponent than her. It does. He sits up and declares her the winner, telling her to come back whenever she wants. She also gets a new skill – [Pandemonium]!

Disappointed that she didn’t defeat the level boss, Maple sat down and tried to think. However, she was interrupted by Frederica, Dread, Drag, and some newbies. They were going to the boss to help the newbies progress and welcome Maple into their party. She uses her [Loving Sacrifice] which shields everyone so they can attack without worry. Their attacks are useless so Maple gets to test [Pandemonium] and it is terrifyingly spectacular!

Maple makes it to Level Five and quickly helps May and Yui defeat another boss, gaining yet another skill. They goof around in the cloud world before discovering that Level Six is about to be released. As expected, they quickly defeat the boss and progress as a guild. However, it’s a horror-themed level, something that Sally just can’t handle…

What did you think?

This is without a doubt the most wholesome and enjoyable show I’ve ever seen. If you’re ever feeling a little worn down, spend some time with Maple and she’ll turn your frown upside down. Of course, Maple decided to copy the oni statues and find a hidden boss that was far stronger than the level boss. Of course, she beat it and now has access to his tower. That is bound to come in handy at some point, but that’s not why she does it. She’s just having fun, whether that’s eating a cloud or making poisonous rain with her [Hyrda] skill. It’s just wonderful to watch, especially the reaction of those who witness her new abilities!

I was a little surprised by how quickly the levels are rolling out now and can’t help but wonder if it isn’t the new developer trying to find something that will slip up Maple. Unfortunately, she found Sally’s weakness – horror. What’s even funnier about this now is that Sally has a new skill where mysterious hands will appear behind her to help. She’s basically got a ghost following her at all times. I know this is only the second episode of the second season, but I’d sign a petition to get the third in production as soon as possible. I’m going to need more. I can tell you that now.
