BOFURI: I Don’t Want to Get Hurt, so I’ll Max Out My Defense (Episode 22) – Maxing Defense and New Teams

After the first night, the developers shake the world up, shrinking the playing area, hiding the map, and separating the players. That’ll show them… Hang on, why are they working together? They will be unstoppable!
BOFURI: I Don’t Want to Get Hurt, so I’ll Max Out My Defense (Episode 22) – Maxing Defense and New Teams
What happened?
After getting separated, Maple decided to use herself as a firework to let the other players know where she was. However, it was Mii who found her first and told her about the playing area and how it was shrinking, killing anyone that got in in the darkness around it. She offered to give Maple a ride, but since she had Syrup she would be fine. Better to wait for the others. Meanwhile, Sally bumped into Frederica which gave them a chance to fight together for a change.
Everyone had been scattered across the world, which was quickly shrinking as more and more monsters appeared. Luckily, new groups were able to band together to survive and soon enough everyone had gathered together. Everyone else’s bases had been destroyed in the shake-up of the playing area. However, Maple’s dungeon was smack bang in the middle of the map and had been unaffected. They invited everyone else in.
After seeing Mii and Payne take on the second wave of monsters, the first had been destroyed by the traps, they decided that they would all head out into the world for the third day and go crazy. To ensure that everyone got the most out of the event, they split up and created new teams, mixing the three top guilds together, much to the disbelief of the developers. Things were getting out of control.

What did you think?
I love that Maple seems to instinctively do the worst possible thing for the developers. They must have been expecting the second half of the event to turn into a clan battle, however, they are now working together and will no doubt claim more prizes than the developers had planned, making them even more powerful. It’s tough because they need to find a way to balance things so that new players are not put off but they also can’t upset the existing players that have put so much into the game, to begin with. What will they do?
I’m excited to see how this ends as it’s going to be a pretty explosive end to the event with everyone fighting in new groups and going wild. Part of me wants someone to develop a dark streak and shake things up a little, but that’s not what this show is about. No doubt, it’ll end well and everyone will have had a great time. They’ll celebrate at Maple’s tree house and everything will be right in the world once more. Maybe, the developers need to put on an event that is pure PvP and see who comes out on top. That would make things interesting.
