KonoSuba: God’s blessing on this wonderful world! (Episode 25) – A Re-education for This Bright Little Girl!
Princess Iris took Kazuma back to the castle in the hopes of learning more about his adventures, much to the disappointment of her bodyguards. Of course, Kazuma quickly settles in and then Iris refers to him as Onii-chan!

What happened?
Kazuma was all set to return to Axel and resume his regular life until Iris said that he was like a big brother to her! Well, that was that. How could he leave her now? She clearly needed him. So, he sucked it up and continued to live in the castle with his butler, Sebastian… er.. Heidel. He continued to make the maids’ job harder than it needed to be, as all good nobles do. That was until he pushed things too far and instead of the maid coming in it was Megumin, Darkness, and Aqua. Kazuma stopped suddenly, but Darkness wanted to know what he was going to say. He crumbled under pressure, however, Iris showed up before it went too far and revealed she was going to hold a farewell banquet in Kazuma’s honour.
The banquet went about as expected. Megumin and Aqua stuffed their faces with all the delicious food on offer. Darkness was left to fend off advances and marriage arrangements from the nobles. However, they all agreed that she was the perfect wife for the Prince, Iris’ real big brother. Kazuma, seeing that she was uncomfortable, talked about their exploits together, drawing Darkness’ ire. She told him to be quiet, but he warned her that showing off her strength wouldn’t be too ladylike. She promptly broke him.
Kazuma went outside for some air and was soon joined by Iris. She told him that it wasn’t going to be the same around here without him and then listed off all the things she liked about him. He was unlike anyone she’d met before. He never backs down, he’s rude and honest, he tells her about the strangest things, and he is immature and desperate to win against her at games. It felt like a roast, but those were the things she liked. Without him, she would go back to being the quiet and proper Princess. Kazuma couldn’t let that happen… also, he wanted to keep his room and his butler, Sebastian… I mean Heidel. So, he vowed to catch a thief who has been stealing from the nobles and giving to the Church of Eris.
What did you think?
I love this series. That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime and Mushoku Tensei II: Jobless Reincarnation have both started the new season slowly whereas KonoSuba has picked up exactly where it left off. It hasn’t missed a step. This episode was fantastic. I loved how it showed us exactly what sort of a person Kazuma is – selfish and immature… but we already knew that. We just get to enjoy seeing how ridiculous he can be with it. I laughed so hard as he drank his coffee while the maid tried to make the bed with him in it. The joke with the butler was great too. I loved seeing how exasperated Claire and Rein got as they tried to stop Kazuma from being too casual with Iris. And then, when Iris called Kazuma Onii-chan. So, funny.
Of course, things got even funnier when Megumin, Aqua, and Darkness arrived. I love how much they’ve put Darkness in control in this season so far. Her experience with nobility is obviously a large part of that, but regardless, it’s nice to see the best girl get the love she deserves. I mean Yun-Yun has more figures than Darkness. What’s that all about? Anyhow, another moment I loved was how all the nobles talked about Kazuma so openly calling him a seedy-looking fellow and not very remarkable. His reaction was just as good. And one more thing to mention is the ED. I love the animation where we see Darkness getting slapped by a giant tadpole and thoroughly enjoying it. The giant toads are a staple of the series so it’s nice to see that they haven’t forgotten about them.
